InTERNATIONALE DOCENTENTRAINING: GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP AND DIVERSITY
From 15 to 19 December 2025, an international training will take place in Berlin, entirely focused on (global) citizenship education and diversity. In a world that is becoming increasingly complex and diverse, this type of education plays a crucial role in preparing students for their place in society. Teachers hold a key role in this process: they inspire, guide, and encourage students to explore global social and political issues. But how do you provide education that is both inclusive and in-depth? How do you initiate discussions on sensitive or polarizing topics? And how do you encourage students to think critically and explore different perspectives?
This training provides teachers with the knowledge, tools, and methods to make citizenship education more global, inclusive, and interactive. We offer practical tools to facilitate discussions on challenging topics and to help students further develop their critical thinking skills. Throughout the training, we use interactive and non-formal methods that can be directly applied in the classroom and assist teachers in making (global) citizenship themes openly and safely discussable.
The training is open to teachers from secondary schools and vocational (MBO) institutions across Europe. To ensure a rich mix of perspectives, the number of participants per country is limited to five. Teachers who register as a duo together with a colleague from another European country will be given priority. The language of instruction is English, so a well-functioning level of English is required for active participation.
As this is an international training, teachers from all over Europe will come together. This makes the exchange especially valuable: each participant brings unique experiences and perspectives, creating a learning environment that encourages reflection and dialogue.
