7-14 October: Youth exchange ´Radio Mediterranee´in Almada/Portugal

Radio Méditerranée is a project about media and migration. The Lisbon edition is the second phase of a project gathering 30 young people from 6 different countries – France, Portugal, The Netherlands, Algeria, Morocco, and Germany. The first edition took place in Tanger/Morocco in December 2016.

The aim of the project is to explore the topic of migration and refugees, through the lens of intercultural learning and radio and media.

During the project, the participants will share and gain knowledge and awareness regarding their own experiences and the situations of the refugees and migrants in the different countries. They will also create media content in the form of radio pieces, articles, short films, or other formats.

The idea is also to bring specific media skills in contact with the first-hand experience of professionals and refugees, and to research the specific realities of the project countries and the local context – in this case, the metropolitan area of Lisbon.

To promote a rich dialog, we will use non-formal education methods and intercultural methodologies; visit organisations who work in this field; we will work on collecting narratives and data regarding refugees and professionals and/or volunteers. We will also work on ways to present this content, in order to broaden the scope of our communication and share this content with the world – or at least the participating countries.
